The session gave an opportunity for Research Scholars working in the area of Photonics at IIT Madras to interact with Prof.Johan Nilsson. He mentioned about his PhD experience. He briefed about his current research area and discussed about the work culture in Southampton University . The session also helped Research Scholars to know more about various job opportunities in the area of photonics in UK.

BIO OF THE SPEAKER

Johan Nilsson is currently a Professor in the Optoelectronics Research Center (ORC) at University of Southampton (U.K.). His research interests include High power fibre lasers and amplifiers, nonlinear fibre optics, optical communications, with interests in device, fabrication, materials, simulations, systems and applications aspects.
